The right candidate::
We are looking for smart, resourceful 2nd year+ writing majors who have interest in learning, growing and contributing to great work with an awesomely strategic and creative team.
We need to say this before we get too much further: Having talked to many writing majors—especially in technical and journalism writing—we have learned that “marketing” may be considered a bad word and/or a lower form of writing.
To that point, it may help to know that this firm values good writing above everything else. It is the cornerstone of our business. Good solid strategic messaging lays the foundation for all other work that follows. That is why we have been invited to develop the strategic brand positioning of both the Purdue College of Agriculture and Purdue Krannert School of Business along many other businesses.
Not to scare you off—there are probably 50 smaller articles, blogs, social media content plans etc. for every high level “strategic messaging” or “brand positioning” project. Plus, we have a great head writer for the high-level strategy stuff.
So probably pretty obvious: we are a marketing firm—which means a fair amount of marketing copy. If you have never done that we can try out a small project or two to see if you like it and want to learn more. That may be the key: do you have an interest in learning?
Maybe not so obvious: successful marketing firms today are content providers. For ourselves and our clients. Research, interviews and fact-based blogs, articles, white papers, etc. have grown over the past 5 years into a mainstay of our business. So people with journalist writing skills may feel right at home—it’s just how much you love the marketing components that may be the difference-maker.
We are looking for driven and resourceful Marketing and/or Communications majors who have interest in learning, growing and contributing to great work with an awesomely strategic and creative team.
